Community Reads Series | January 27 – March 1, 2025
Comprised of a social gathering, a book club, and a post-show discussion with members of the creative team of A Raisin in the Sun, the Community Reads Series offers opportunities to come together to discuss themes within the play, its inspiration, and its importance to the South Side.

Agora: A Dream Deferred – Black Mobility and Housing | February 13, 2025 at 6:30pm
Don’t miss the newest installment in the Agora Series! Join Court Theatre and the National Public Housing Museum for an evening of art, exploration, and conversation about the history of housing injustice.

Let’s Talk About Art | February 17 – 20, 2025
Court Theatre joins the Let’s Talk About Art series, Hyde Park Art Center’s innovative hybrid learning program for older adults (65+), where participants explore visual and performing arts and create their own art inspired by exhibits and performances they attend. This installation of the Let’s Talk About Art series will be in response to A Raisin in the Sun.
Produced in partnership with Hyde Park Arts Center, free to participants, and features a complimentary ticket to A Raisin in the Sun.
Screening and Lecture | February 21, 2025 at 7:00pm
Join us for a film screening of Bushman (1971), in partnership with the University of Chicago Film Studies Center. Investigate the role of Pan-Africanism in this production, and how it informs Lorraine Hansberry’s work, more broadly.
