“…this is a powerful, audacious and heart-felt piece of work that rescues “La Mancha” from eternal light-opera oblivion.” -Chicago Tribune

“…as the titular dreamer, Perry shows his soaring, sonorous voice was made for the part. And with McCullough’s design, there are enough lovely moments to make it all work.” -Reader

“…The production owes much to the detailed work of the ensemble whose singing was superb. Perry, Resnik and Friedman sure had much help. This is a thrilling show, one that will engulf you from the start as it sweeps you into sharing all your impossible dreams. Court Theatre’s Man of La Mancha is one of the finest Chicago productions in years. Trust me on this one —see this show.” -Chicago Critic

The epic story of knight-errant Don Quixote, his servant Sancho, and the woman of his dreams, the lovely Aldonza/Dulcinea. The musical, set during the Spanish Inquisition, tells the romantic and noble journey of a knight who sets out to right all wrongs and win the heart of a good woman as he duels windmills along the way. Based on The Adventures of Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes’, Man of La Mancha is the classic comic tragedy of man’s struggle against all odds to dream impossible dreams.
