Stephen J. Albert to Step Down as Executive Director

Court Theatre announces that Stephen J. Albert will step down as Executive Director after more than eight years with the company. He will remain at Court until the beginning of the 2018-2019 season as the University and Court Theatre initiate a national search for a successor. 

Revisiting Iphigenia in Aulis at the Getty Villa

This summer, Court Theatre was honored to remount its production of Iphigenia in Aulis at the Getty Villa stage in Malibu, California. The reprisal of Iphigenia was not so much a remount as a new production—the same translation and team, but with a different set of questions and challenges.

Shining a Light on Hidden Gems: Court’s Spotlight Reading Series

The Spotlight Reading Series is the brainchild of Ron OJ Parson, Court’s Resident Artist. Ron believes that the classic canon should include writers of color, and wanted to bring classic but rarely seen plays to a younger audience, and to the community at large.
